About the programme
Applied Organizational Psychology is a Master of Science at OTH Amberg-Weiden that works at the meeting point of business and psychology. You learn how leadership becomes effective, how to steer teams through complex change, and how to analyse consumer and employee behaviour, so you can guide change as a manager, consultant or coach. The programme combines business thinking with psychological depth, research with practice, and is taught in German and English. In practical research projects with companies from the region, in industry, finance or healthcare, you develop evidence-based recommendations, often with published results, on topics such as green nudging, leadership culture or change management. It lasts three semesters (90 ECTS) and starts in winter or summer. Graduates can work in HR, marketing, change management, organisational development, consulting and market research.

Prerequisites
(1) Admission to the Master's program requires an above-average degree from a relevant Bachelor's program with at least 210 ECTS credits or an equivalent domestic or foreign program, proof of sufficient knowledge of the English language, and a successful assessment of the program specific aptitude according to § 6. The Examination Commission decides on the equivalence of the degrees, taking into account the principles of Art. 63 Para. 1 BayHSchG. If relevant courses of study do not have ECTS points, 30 credit points per full-time semester will be taken as a basis.
(2) Above-average is defined as a degree with an overall grade of "very good" or "good" (at least 2.5) at German universities. If a conversion of the overall grade is necessary due to deviating grading systems, this is done according to the so-called "modified Bavarian formula" in accordance with the general examination regulations of the East Bavarian Technical University of Amberg-Weiden. An applicant with a degree from a foreign university is recommended to submit a letter of recognition of the degree issued by a certified institution (e.g. uni-assist) by the end of the application period. The decision on admission to the course of study is made by the examination board.
