About the programme

Landscape Ecology and Nature Conservation is a research-oriented, interdisciplinary Master of Science at the University of Greifswald. It lasts four semesters, carries 120 ECTS credits and is divided into five basic modules, ten elective modules and the master's thesis. The basic modules and most electives are taught in English, so you can study entirely in English. You gain specialised knowledge of conceptual problems in landscape ecology and national and international nature conservation, and learn to tackle complex research tasks on your own. The programme adds content from the arts and humanities, law, and business and economics to its scientific core, including landscape economy, human geography, environmental law and environmental ethics. In biology and landscape ecology, special weight is placed on species knowledge and on understanding ecosystems and how they change, supported by excursions in Germany and abroad.
