About the programme
Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology (Ingenieur- und Hydrogeologie) at TUM in Munich is a full-time Master of Science over four semesters with 120 ECTS. Teaching is in German and English, so you take modules in both languages, and you can start in the winter or the summer semester. Engineering geologists and hydrogeologists help solve pressing problems such as sustainable infrastructure, safe drinking water and climate-neutral energy. At the meeting point of natural and engineering sciences, you deepen your knowledge of applied geology and work with geological, mineralogical and petrographic methods, especially for questions from civil, environmental, surveying and mechanical engineering. You learn to explore the subsurface, assess the properties of rock and rock masses and determine the hydrochemical and hydrogeological properties of water. You can focus on engineering geology, alpine natural hazards and engineering geomorphology, hydrogeology or geothermal energy. Admission is through an aptitude assessment.
