About the programme
Angewandte Geowissenschaften (Applied Geosciences) is a German-taught M.Sc. at TU Darmstadt, and the university states that the programme will be discontinued at the end of the 2026/27 winter semester (31 March 2027). The 4-semester programme focuses on the applied side of geosciences with an environmental research angle, covering hydrogeology, environmental geochemistry, engineering geology, geothermal energy, soil chemistry and atmospheric aerosol. At the start you choose one of two specialisations, Applied Geology or Environmental Geosciences. Some individual courses are taught in English. It suits graduates of a B.Sc. in applied geosciences or an equivalent degree who want to work on water, energy and the environment, for example as hydrogeologists or engineering geologists. Read the discontinuation notice on the page before you plan an application.
