About the programme
Angewandte Geowissenschaften (Applied Geosciences) is a bilingual (English and German) M.Sc. at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg over 4 semesters with 120 credits, starting in the winter semester only. It gives in-depth knowledge of processes in the Earth's interior and at its surface, studying the dynamics of the Earth system in a holistic way. You train for independent work in subject areas such as geodynamics, including geohazard assessment; applied geology, with hydrogeology, geothermal energy and engineering geology; technical mineralogy and geochemistry, including recycling of mineral residues and CO2 storage; and sedimentary systems and resources, using field and lab techniques plus drones and LiDAR. It suits geoscience graduates with English at B2; international applicants also need German for university study.
