About the programme
Energy and Process Engineering at TUM in Garching is a full-time, four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS, with a start in the winter or the summer semester. Teaching is generally in German, with some modules in English. You learn how energy can be provided from renewable sources, stored and converted efficiently, and how biotechnological and process engineering methods can be developed further for continuous decarbonisation. The programme covers energy-related machinery and instruments and industrial processes from biotechnology to the process industry and power plant technology. It deals with the physical, chemical and biological processes of material conversion for energy or industrial products, how they combine into whole processes and where they are applied, and you can specialise in individual subject areas. Graduates are well prepared to work on sustainable and innovative processes in energy supply or manufacturing. Admission is through an aptitude assessment.
