About the programme
The Master's in Biology at TUM is a full-time programme on the Weihenstephan (Freising) campus, over four semesters with 120 ECTS, starting in the winter semester (October). Depending on your focus areas, you can study in German, English or both. You specialise in at least three of seven focus areas: biochemistry and cell biology, genetics and biostatistics, medical biology, microbiology, ecology and environmental management, plant sciences, and animal sciences. Around 200 modules in the life sciences and 65 professors let you tailor your studies to your interests, so every graduate ends up with an individual profile. Internships teach you to plan and run experiments on your own, process the data and place it in a wider context, and you learn to analyse complex biological questions, including those beyond your own field. Admission is through an aptitude assessment.
