About the programme

Econometrics is a four-semester, English-taught Master of Science run jointly by TU Dortmund, Ruhr University Bochum and the University of Duisburg-Essen, with the economics departments of all three and TU Dortmund's Department of Statistics. It combines methods training in statistics and econometrics with economics, so you gain extensive knowledge of econometric methods and models and a deep understanding of economic cause and effect. The programme especially supports students interested in research and prepares you for a doctorate, or for careers in econometrics, empirical economic research and evidence-based policy consulting. You write a six-month thesis, and graduates receive a joint degree. Since summer 2025 you can start in summer or winter.
