About the programme
Applied Economics is a two-year Master's at the University of Wuppertal's Schumpeter School of Business and Economics, taught in English. It prepares you for careers in international organisations and multinational companies, where analysing and interpreting data drives decisions. You learn to apply empirical methods to economic questions, including econometric, quantitative and experimental methods for identifying causal relationships, and to judge critically what empirical studies can and cannot show. You also learn to develop and communicate well-founded policy recommendations from an international perspective. Classes are small, with students from around the world, and use problem-based learning, for example working on a specific international economic policy problem. You can add an optional semester abroad or a summer school at a partner university, supported by a standard procedure for recognising credits earned abroad and by scholarship opportunities.
