About the programme

Photography is an English-taught Master of Arts (M.A.) at SRH University in Berlin. It takes 3 or 4 semesters (90 or 120 ECTS), on campus, with starts on 1 April and 1 October. The programme offers critical perspectives on photography and new visual media and gives you the tools to reflect on your own work and that of your peers. You also explore the professional world of image-makers and the historical roots of the medium, with room to refine your personal photographic direction and artistic practice. It prepares you to work as an independent artistic or commercial photographer, image editor, art buyer or art director, and its strong theory focus also suits a career as a curator for museums and galleries. The Master of Arts degree also opens the way to doctoral study. You can apply anytime.
