About the programme
Biological Resources is an English-taught, research-focused Master of Science at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences on the Kleve campus. It prepares you to help use existing natural resources such as soil, plants, animals and marine habitats sustainably and to develop new raw materials for a bio-based economy, combining natural science with engineering and the bioeconomy. The first semester includes modules such as simulation of biological systems, animal ecology, soil biological resources and waste management, plus a research project; the second covers environmental assessment, forest resources and processing biological resources, with electives. The third semester is for your thesis, often with industry. A tropical greenhouse on campus supports research, and an optional double degree lets you also earn the TAIDA master's from the Technical University of Cartagena in Spain. The programme lasts three semesters, full time, part time or work-integrated and starts on 1 September or 1 March.
