About the programme

Economics and Institutions at Philipps-Universität Marburg, officially titled Economics, Institutions, and Behavior, is a four-semester Master of Science worth 120 ECTS, taught in English, with starts in the winter or the summer semester. It prepares you systematically for professional work as an economist. The content covers all the main fields of micro and macroeconomics, economic policy and institutional economics, with a systematic look at how institutions shape the economy. A mix of statistical foundations and practical economic applications builds job-ready skills. Major topics are institutional economics plus a specialisation in economic policy or in money, accounting and finance. It suits graduates aiming for the economics departments of banks, insurers and industrial firms, international organisations, economic research institutes, public administration, ministries, associations and regulators, or for a doctorate.
