About the programme
Biology: From Molecules to Organisms is an international, English-taught Master of Science at Osnabrück University. It takes 4 semesters, you can start in winter or summer, and admission is restricted by a numerus clausus. The research-oriented programme covers molecular and organismic biology, from structural biology and biophysics to cell biology, physiology, ecology, evolution and behaviour. You choose one of three specialisations: general biology; evolution, behaviour and ecology; or cell and molecular biology. After a lecture series where all 20 working groups introduce themselves, you pick your own Master's modules, then take an excursion or internship, a teaching assistance module, two research projects in different groups and a literature module before your Master's thesis. Graduates work in research, the pharmaceutical or agro industries, academic teaching, science journalism, expert roles, museums and zoos, public health or administration. Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in biology or a closely related subject.
