About the programme

Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry is an English-taught joint Master of Science with a dual degree, developed by five universities: Bologna, Helsinki, Krakow, Leipzig and Lille. It teaches you to apply spectroscopic techniques to analyse chemicals and characterise the structure of materials, with a focus on areas such as nanotechnology, pharmacology, green chemistry and sustainable energy. All students start in Lille, where the first semester has six compulsory modules worth 30 credits. In the second and third semesters you take a module on synchrotron radiation, nine elective modules and a 10-credit internship, and a stay of at least one semester at another partner university is compulsory. The 30-credit master's thesis follows in the fourth semester. Applications go only to Lille University, and the programme starts in the winter semester. It suits graduates in chemistry or another natural science or engineering subject with similar chemistry content.
