About the programme
Neuroscience and Behavioural Biology is an international, English-taught Master of Science at Leipzig University, organised by the Institute of Biology with colleagues from the Medical Faculty and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. It offers research-oriented training for scientific careers, with modules from molecular and cellular neurobiology to systems and clinical neuroscience and ethology. In the first year you take six compulsory elective modules worth 60 credits. In the second year you complete a Practical Tutorial that includes an internship outside the university, a Theory Course and a Laboratory Practical, and then a 30-credit Master's thesis. The programme runs for 4 semesters (120 credits), full time or part time, starting in the winter semester, with close supervision of a small group of selected students. It suits graduates in biology or an equivalent subject.
