About the programme
Nutrition and Food Sciences (Ernährungs- und Lebensmittelwissenschaften) at Kiel University (CAU) is a single-subject Master's of 4 semesters at the Faculty of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences. Nutrition is a socially relevant topic with extremes: chronic diet-related diseases are rising in industrialised and emerging countries, while malnutrition remains a major problem in developing countries. The programme gives you subject and methodological knowledge to work on basic and current questions of nutrition, with a choice of four focus areas. In nutrition science you learn to assess eating behaviour and nutritional status, determine nutrient needs and use diet for disease prevention; molecular nutrition looks at interactions between nutrients and genes; and food science lets you assess and modify food quality. The faculty supports you in finding internships for practical experience.
