About the programme

English Studies/North American Studies (Anglistik/Nordamerikanistik) at Kiel University (CAU) is a two-subject Master of Arts at the Faculty of Humanities, with a standard period of 4 semesters. You study two subjects worth 45 credit points each and write a Master's thesis worth 30 credit points in one of them. In this subject you deepen your English and work on current research questions in a literary, cultural or linguistic focus of your choice. In literary and cultural studies you build deep subject and method knowledge for the comparative analysis of texts and learn to meet academic challenges in a differentiated, reflective and analytical way. Flexible e-learning with lecture recordings, online tutorials and electronic reading collections supports your studies. Part-time study can be requested for important reasons.
