About the programme
The single-subject Master's in Economics at Kiel University (CAU) runs for 4 semesters at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences and is designed as an international programme, with courses taught in English. It helps you understand the economic and policy links behind issues such as economic crises, debt relief, Brexit and zero interest rate policy. You study how companies, private households and the state interact within an economic and currency area, usually a country but also supranational areas. The aim is solid knowledge of economic relationships, processes and institutions and insight into increasingly complex economic and social developments, so you can see economic problems in their social context, analyse them with scientific methods and apply solutions. You write the Master's thesis alongside your studies in the fourth semester.
