About the programme

Physics and Technology for Space Applications (PTRA) at Justus Liebig University Giessen is a modern, research-oriented Master's of four semesters and 120 credit points, positioned between electrical engineering and physics. It trains STEM specialists for research institutes, space agencies and the space industry, where technology is strongly interdisciplinary and development cycles keep getting faster. Fundamentals of Astronautics and Space Systems give you a solid theoretical base in the first two semesters. A practice-oriented module group, Analysis, Design and Implementation of Space Systems, builds step by step towards work in large projects and contributes to a real CubeSat mission. In-depth and specialisation modules can be designed individually and lead into your Master's thesis. The programme draws on close cooperation between JLU and THM, with DLR as a research partner and Ariane Group as a cooperation partner.

  • "Physics and Technology for Space Applications" from JLU Giessen.

The examination board may recognise other courses of study as equivalent.
