About the programme
Quantitative Decision Making in Economics and Management (QDEM) is an English-taught Master of Science (M.Sc.) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. It takes 4 semesters (120 ECTS) and starts in the winter semester. There is no numerus clausus, but you must pass a study aptitude test. The programme brings data science, management science and behavioural decision science together in one degree. You learn data analysis methods, planning and optimisation of business processes, and how to view economic decisions and strategic interactions through psychology and the social and behavioural sciences. You also master advanced econometric methods, for example for labour market and health economics, and data preparation and visualisation. It suits you if you want to understand how people actually make decisions and how algorithms can improve them. Requirements include a Bachelor's with 19 credits in quantitative methods such as maths, statistics or econometrics, and 18 credits in management and economics.
