About the programme
Human Geography: Globalisation, Media and Culture is a Master of Arts (M.A.) at the Institute of Geography of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. The programme offers critical human geography perspectives on an interconnected, globalised world and a thorough look at current debates on globalisation, digital media and culture. Seminars combine theoretical discussion with empirical research practice, and international guest scholars and experts add to the teaching and research setting. In a practice-oriented workshop you design and carry out your own empirical research project. The programme is modular, with modules ending in exams, reports, papers or presentations, and concludes with a Master's thesis. It suits motivated students who want to explore the world through human, cultural and media geography, and it widens your career options. Applications can be submitted until 15 May each year.
