About the programme
Forest Information Technology (FIT) is a Master of Science developed and run jointly by Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. It focuses on environmental information systems and green IT in the global forestry sector, in an intercultural, international setting. You learn to solve complex problems using data structures and algorithms together with an understanding of ecosystem processes, and a wide range of methods for collecting, analysing, storing, visualising and communicating environmental and forest data, with an emphasis on sustainable forest management. A student describes practical exercises in geomatics, remote sensing, statistics, programming and data management. The programme has 120 ECTS over four semesters, each with compulsory and elective modules, starting with the principles of forest data structures, GIS and remote sensing. It is taught in English and starts in winter.
