About the programme

Wood Engineering is a research-oriented Master's at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development that prepares you for research and development work with wood as a raw material, and later leadership roles in product development, quality management, research institutions or industry associations. You learn largely by taking part in current research, working alone or in a team on wood engineering or process engineering questions, with a mentor who helps you choose a specialisation and supervises two research modules and your thesis. Compulsory modules cover applied engineering (statistics, mathematics and wood physics), bio-based materials and sustainable business management, and electives include timber construction, building renovation, adhesive technology, finite element analysis and computer-based planning with BIM and CAM. Your research projects often lead into your thesis topic. The programme lasts three semesters and starts in summer.
