About the programme
Architecture is a German-taught Master of Science at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), on the main campus in Cottbus. It takes 4 semesters full-time, with a double degree option, and you can start in winter or summer. Architects plan buildings with technical, environmental and social care and help shape architectural culture, with responsibility to society, clients and the environment. You learn to develop concepts by hand and on the computer, turn designs into built and spatial form, work on complex construction projects and coordinate the many disciplines involved. Graduates lead architecture firms or work in construction management for builders, housing associations and corporate building departments. Requirements include a Bachelor's in architecture or a comparable field with a grade of 2.0 or better, a portfolio of up to 25 A3 pages with your studio work and Bachelor thesis, and a successful aptitude interview, held in German.
