About the programme

National and International Administration and Policy (MANIA) is an English-taught Master of Arts at the University of Potsdam, worth 120 credit points over 4 semesters, with a start in summer or winter. You study political and administrative science from an international and comparative angle, with empirical projects on administration, public policy, management and governance using qualitative and quantitative methods. Topics include modes of governance, public administration, political systems in the 21st century, civil society interest groups and the legal frameworks behind them. Electives let you focus on areas such as administrative reform, digitalisation in the state or global crisis management. A Fast-Track Doctoral Stream lets qualified students work towards a doctorate. It suits graduates in political, administrative or social sciences with a background in social science methods.
