About the programme
Hearing Technology and Audiology is a Master of Science at the University of Oldenburg, run with the Jade Hochschule Wilhelmshaven/Oldenburg/Elsfleth and taught in German and English. It takes 3 semesters (90 ECTS), admission is free, and you can start in winter or summer; without a Bachelor's in this field you take a bridge semester, so it usually lasts four. Modules worth 6 or 12 credits fill the first two semesters, and graduates know how to plan and statistically analyse audiological studies and apply acoustic, digital signal and speech processing to audio systems such as hearing aids, entertainment electronics, studio acoustics and telecommunications. The programme ends with a six-month, research-focused Master's thesis in areas such as hearing technology and audiology, medical physics, acoustics, mathematical modelling, engineering or computing science. Teaching uses lectures, seminars and practice sessions. Requirements include a degree in hearing technology and audiology or a closely related field.
