About the programme

Applied Mathematics is a German-taught, four-semester Master of Science at Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da) that focuses on modern applications of mathematics in finance and insurance, stochastics and technomathematics. Topics include designing and evaluating financial and insurance products, risk and quality management, including the requirements of IFRS, Basel III and Solvency II, and planning, controlling, simulating and optimising business processes, as well as research and development work in industry and research institutes. The modules combine courses, internships and project work, and the programme can also be studied in a dual format. You can start in the winter or summer semester. It suits graduates in mathematics. The degree also opens the way to a doctorate.

Prerequisites

The standard admission requirement for the Master's programme is a good or very good qualified Bachelor's or Diploma degree in the field of mathematics with at least 180 credit points. For degrees that do not meet the above criteria, the board of examiners conducts individual aptitude and assessment tests
