About the programme

Advanced and Computational Mathematics at TU Chemnitz is a four-semester, research-oriented Master's for graduates with a Bachelor's in mathematics. It rigorously deepens your knowledge and skills in both theoretical and applied mathematics and prepares you for careers in business, industry or research. Mathematics is key to complex real-world problems in engineering, computer science, economics and finance, from automatic control systems and Google search results to portfolio optimisation, weather forecasting and big data analysis. You choose one of three main specialisations: Advanced Pure Mathematics, Computational Mathematics or Data Sciences. A few mandatory German language classes are part of the programme, along with optional classes in other languages. After the Master's, particularly qualified students can move into the PhD programme of the Faculty of Mathematics.
