About the programme

Engineering Physics is a Master of Science offered jointly by the University of Oldenburg and Hochschule Emden/Leer to bridge traditional physics and engineering training. It takes 4 semesters, admission is limited, and the language is English: most modules are taught in English and German is not required for admission. You gain a broad understanding of selected areas of physics and deepen the application of physics and engineering in one specialisation, chosen from areas such as laser and optics, biomedical physics, acoustics and renewable energies. Mathematics courses cover methods for physics and engineering, and theoretical physics focuses on applications. Introductions to modern technologies prepare you for research and industry, and an integrated research project gives you experience in a research institution or company. Teaching includes lectures, seminars, exercises and external internships. Requirements include a Bachelor's in engineering physics or a closely related science or engineering field, and English at B2.
