About the programme
The M.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Freiburg is taught in German over 4 semesters with 120 credits, with entry in winter or summer. It deepens your knowledge in the core areas of chemistry, with options in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, functional materials, spectroscopy, and macromolecular and theoretical chemistry. Compulsory modules cover inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, and the focus is on methodological lab work: two classic lab internships in core areas, a third in an elective area, and two project internships plus the Master's thesis within current research projects. Graduates are prepared for responsible roles in research, industry and administration, and for a doctorate. You need German at B2 and English at B1.
