About the programme
Communication Design is an English-taught Master of Arts at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) in Berlin. You can choose a Standard Track of 4 semesters (120 ECTS) or a Fast Track of 2 or 3 semesters (60 or 90 ECTS) depending on your previous education, and it starts in winter and summer, with classes typically Wednesday to Saturday. The programme merges theory and practice, combining art and design with culture and the humanities,, building creative design skills and critical analysis. The first two semesters cover the history of art and design and visual communication in philosophical, economic and social debates; later you address globalisation and digitalisation, develop a capstone project and write a thesis. Graduates work as creative directors, designers, curators, project managers or studio founders, and the M.A. also opens a path to a doctorate.
