About the programme

Communication and Design for Sustainability is an English-taught Master of Arts (M.A.) at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences. It lasts 3 semesters and starts only in the winter semester. The programme asks how sustainable lifestyles can be designed and communicated, and how transformation processes can be planned openly with different stakeholders. It brings together business, design science, communication and social sciences, with topics such as design theory, sustainability communication, alternative economic models, transformation models, media production, design futuring and design fiction. Most modules are linked to projects, lab teaching and case studies. Requirements include a degree with at least 210 ECTS, English at B2, and, as an international applicant, German at A1. With only 180 credits you must close the 30-credit gap through extra achievements. A Bachelor's from a university outside the Lisbon Convention also requires the GRE General Test.
