About the programme

Economics is an English-taught M.Sc. at the University of Cologne over 4 semesters with 120 credits, starting in the winter semester. It focuses on the analysis of markets, individual and collective behaviour and economic policy, with in-depth economic theory, empirical methods and their application to current economic problems. The research-oriented programme offers flexible specialisation in areas such as market design, economic policy, empirical methods, energy and climate change, and trains you to carry out your own research projects. A double Master's option with Keio University leads to degrees from both universities. Graduates work in companies, research institutes, ministries, international organisations and consulting firms, often in economic analysis, policy consulting, data analysis or finance, and the degree also qualifies you for doctoral studies.
