About the programme

Management Control is a Master of Science at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) for analytical, digitally minded people who want to shape the management of medium-sized and large companies. Since summer 2025 it has two majors: Controlling & Management, and Tax & Accounting, with modules such as tax planning and auditing. The first semester is shared, with modules like performance measurement, business intelligence, financial statement analysis and strategic management; from the second semester you follow your major plus three shared modules, and the last semester is for a major module and your thesis. You build skills in strategy, controlling, accounting, tax and business analytics, as well as project and process management and sustainability. Teaching is application-oriented, in small groups, with projects and case studies, and modules are in German, English or both.

Prerequisites

  • a first bachelor's degree in business administration or a related study program with a final grade of 2.5 or better
  • English knowledge at level B2
  • For a first degree with 180 ECTS, you complete an additional semester before registering for your master's thesis.

If you have acquired a degree with 180 ECTS, then complete an additional semester before registering for your master's thesis. Here you can choose between a 20-week internship or completing modules worth 30 ECTS either at the THM or during a semester abroad.
