About the programme

Integrated Safety and Security Management (ISSM) at Hochschule Bremerhaven is an interdisciplinary, consecutive Master of Science that lasts four semesters and can be studied full-time or part-time alongside work. You learn to protect an organisation or socio-technical system against insider and outsider threats, whether intentional or accidental, and to manage crises and emergencies. The programme has ten compulsory modules and three electives in the first three semesters, plus a practical phase, with case studies on crisis management and risk communication. Teaching runs in close cooperation with the Bremerhaven Fire Department, the Bremerhaven Police Department and the Havariekommando in Cuxhaven, and links to the Institute for Safety and Security Studies bring you into current research. You can start in the winter or the summer semester. Graduates often work as safety managers in industry, in public administration, in occupational health and safety or in logistics.

Prerequisites

Formal admission requirements are regulated in the admission regulations for the master's programme ISSM at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. A diploma or bachelor's degree with at least the overall grade "satisfactory" is required.

This degree can be proven

a) in the study programme Transportation/Logistics at the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences

b) in another study program with relevant subject areas for the Master's programme and a degree with at least

the overall grade "good" as well as a scope of study and examination achievements of at least 180 CPs

c) good English language skills (level B2)

d) language skills in German at level C1 for non-native speakers

A letter of motivation must be enclosed with the application.

The study places will beassigned according to a ranking of the grades of the first professional qualification.
