About the programme
The MSc Biochemistry at Ulm University is research- and practice-oriented, worth 120 ECTS, taught in German and English, with a start in the winter or summer semester. It prepares you for a professional career and for further academic work such as a doctorate. You take modules in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, biophysics and medicine, combining core subjects such as cell biology, microbiology and biophysics with specialist modules on topics like the RNA biochemistry of archaea and CRISPR/Cas, endocrinology, protein biochemistry and protein-folding disorders. This lets you set your own focus within current research. The Department of Biology's research focus on stress response and resilience in biological systems shapes the programme, and you apply what you learn in work placements and in your Master's thesis. It suits students interested in the molecular foundations of life.
