About the programme
The Master's in Chemistry at TUM in Garching is a full-time, four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS, with a start in the winter or the summer semester. German is the required language. Chemical research drives future fields such as electromobility, new materials and the catalytic conversion of CO2, and you learn to analyse and control chemical processes and use them in different applications. The programme is interdisciplinary, research-oriented and practical, with a focus on catalysis, energy materials and biological chemistry. You choose a first study focus in analytical, organic, physical or technical chemistry and a second from a wide list, including inorganic, building and biological chemistry, macromolecules, colloids and interfaces, food chemistry, materials chemistry, pharmaceutical radiochemistry and theoretical chemistry. The third semester adds other chemistry fields and general modules and can be spent abroad, and the Master's thesis follows in the fourth.
