About the programme

The Master in Consumer Science (MCS) at the TUM School of Management in Munich is a full-time, four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS, starting in the winter semester (October). Teaching is usually in English, with some courses possibly in German. It combines management studies with social and consumer sciences, with fellow students from many countries and academic backgrounds. The first semester builds the theoretical and methodological basics of consumer science. In the second and third semesters you focus on your chosen specialisation in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Management and Marketing, or Economics and Econometrics, and a mandatory Project Studies module gives you hands-on, interdisciplinary experience. Companies, governments, NGOs and research institutions look for graduates who understand how consumers act in their economic, social and environmental contexts. Admission is through an aptitude assessment.

Specialization

In the second and third semester, the focus lies on the courses of the chosen specialization – “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, --“Management and Marketing”, and --“Economics and Econometrics”
