About the programme

This MBA at TH Nürnberg's Ohm Professional School is designed for people without a business degree, such as engineers, scientists, lawyers and doctors, who want to move into management. It is taught in English in Nuremberg and runs alongside your job: you choose an intensive variant with five evening lectures a week or a standard variant with three, finishing in three or four semesters. Across 24 modules worth 81 ECTS credits, basic modules teach the core areas of business administration and the programme then covers national and international corporate management. Teaching is in small seminar-style groups with case studies and presentations, plus several Saturdays and occasional blocks each semester, and ends with a Master's thesis. The MBA has been accredited by ACQUIN since 2005.

Prerequisites

The following requirements are necessary for admission to the Master of Business Administration for non-business students:

  • University degree (Bachelor, Diploma, Master)
  • At least two years of professional experience after completing your first degree
  • Proof of good English language skills through one of the following tests: TOEFL (550 points, 213 points computer-based or 85 points internet-based), TOEIC (750 points) or IELTS (6.0)
  • Personal selection interview with the academic program director
  • GMAT is recommended for international students

Selection process

1. Submission of the application documents.

2. Interview with the course director

After successful examination of the complete application documents, you will receive an invitation to a personal interview with the course director. This can be done on site at the institute or in individual cases by telephone.

3. Authorization decision

The final decision on your admission to the MBA course will be made after the interview. If the decision is positive, you will receive the official registration documents by e-mail or by post.

4. 4. For non-EU citizens: prepare your stay

At the latest after transfer of the registration fee, you should start the visa process and make an appointment at the German Embassy in your home country. At the same time it is important that you take care of a suitable accommodation in Nuremberg. Student residences are only available to students up to the age of 30.
