About the programme

Mathematics in Business and Economics at TU Dresden is an application-oriented, four-semester Master of Science taught in English, with starts in the winter or the summer semester and a part-time option. Mathematics underpins forecasting, modelling and simulation, risk measurement and hedging, and the optimisation of processes, from analysing financial products to cutting transport costs and optimising portfolios. The programme focuses on mathematics relevant to business and economics, with a concentration in stochastics and optimisation. Compulsory modules cover mathematical statistics, probability theory, financial and actuarial science, and continuous and discrete optimisation, plus a further stochastics module. You choose 24 ECTS of mathematical electives and 24 ECTS of non-mathematical minor subjects in business and economics.
