About the programme

Culture and Organization is a master's programme at Leuphana University Lüneburg on the relationship between culture, the arts and organisation. It lasts four semesters, carries 120 ECTS, is taught in English with some electives in German, and starts every winter term in October, with 25 study places. The programme uses cultural and sociological theories as critical lenses for studying organisations and organising, and teaches you to engage empirically and analytically with organisational and entrepreneurial practices in the arts and culture. It is both theory-driven and practice-based, combining dialogical teaching with fieldwork-based learning, with modules on cultural and artistic fields, institutions and digital networks. It is aimed at graduates of sociology, management, the wider social sciences, cultural studies and the arts, and prepares reflective practitioners for careers in scholarship, cultural organising or cultural leadership.
