About the programme
Mathematical Physics is an English-taught Master of Science at Leipzig University, consecutive and lasting four semesters with 120 credits. It has two one-year phases. In the first, two modules on mathematical physics build on your knowledge of mathematics and theoretical physics. In the research phase you learn to do independent research in a research group under a professor or experienced scientist, with a main seminar and a 15-credit research lab course in the third semester and a 30-credit master's thesis in the fourth. Suggested tracks include gravitation and differential geometry or quantum field theory and functional analysis. It suits graduates in mathematics, physics or computer science.
