About the programme

Chemical Engineering (Chemieingenieurwesen) at HTW Dresden is a three-semester Master of Science worth 90 ECTS, taught in German, full time and starting in the summer semester. It is for people who want to develop new chemical-technical processes and technologies and gain in-depth, practical engineering knowledge of the chemistry and physics of materials. In the first semester you choose a focus: solid-state chemistry and physics, or organic and biomaterials. The second semester deepens your focus and lets you specialise through electives, and the third is for your thesis, for example with a company. You build a broad base of analytical and preparative methods and learn to link science and engineering and transfer them to industrial production. It suits graduates aiming for research or leadership in development, process and quality control or sales.
