About the programme
Pharmaceutical Research is an English-taught MSc at Freie Universität Berlin, and you can start in the winter or summer semester. It is an interdisciplinary programme covering the development and testing of medicinal products, combining chemistry, biology and physics with medical topics. Subjects include drug discovery and development, testing therapeutic compositions and formulations, investigating drug release systems and determining drug effects. You learn to tackle complex, current problems in pharmaceutical drug discovery and development with scientific methods, and to carry out scientific work and assess findings independently and responsibly. The page currently says there is no admission for the winter semester 2026/27. The programme prepares you for research and development in the pharmaceutical industry or at scientific institutions, and for further study such as a PhD.
