About the programme
Mechatronics and Automotive Engineering is a Master of Science (M.Sc.) at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, taught about 80 per cent in German and 20 per cent in English. It takes 3 full-time semesters (90 ECTS), with starts in summer or winter. Note that the page says the programme is on hold, with no applications for the Winter 2026/27 semester. It links automotive technology and mechatronics, aimed at the structural change in the car industry. In the first two semesters you study the networking, control and simulation of complex mechatronic systems and advanced problems such as vehicle dynamics, emissions, vibrations and alternative drives, with many lab experiments. A scientific project focuses on automotive research, and the third semester is your Master's thesis, often with industry. Requirements include a 210-credit degree in electrical, mechatronic or mechanical engineering with a grade of 2.5, German at C1 and English at B2.
