The programme welcomes candidates who have a solid foundation in analytical problem solving, as demonstrated by a B.Sc. degree in (Industrial) Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or Architecture. In addition, participation in the program requires 60 ECTS in the fields of business, economics and engineering, of those 60 ECTS 25 ECTS need to be in business and 5 ECTS in economics.

We recommend non-EU nationals who need longer time to process their student visa/residence permit to apply in Period 1

To qualify for admission, applicants need to fulfill the admission requirements, which are a complete and suitable Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of studies (see section below) and proof of English language proficiency.

_Bachelor’s degree_

  • Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree encompassing a minimum of 180 ECTS credits or equivalent academic qualifications from an internationally recognised university.

_Conditional acceptance_

  • Students in their final year of undergraduate education may also apply and if qualified, receive a conditional acceptance.
  • If you have not completed your studies, please include a written statement from the degree administration office (or equivalent department), confirming that you are enrolled in the final year of your education and giving your expected completion date – which should be before the start of the Master’s programme.
  • If you receive a conditional offer, you should present your degree certificate to your entry university before enrolment at the latest. Applicants following longer technical programmes and who have completed courses equivalent to an amount of 180 ECTS, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

IELTS Academic test (www.ielts.org)

  • An overall band score of at least 6.5, with no section lower than 6, is required.
  • IELTS tests are verified online by the admissions office, therefore submitting a scanned copy of your test with a visible TRF number together with your application documents is sufficient. We don’t accept general training IELTS tests.

TOEFL Internet-based test, iBT (www.toefl.org)

  • A minimum total score of 92 (with writing section 22 and no section lower than 21) is required.
  • TOEFL iBT tests are verified online by the admissions office, submitting a scanned copy of your ‘Test Taker Score Report’ on the application portal will be sufficient.

_English proficiency test waiver_

English proficiency tests are waived only for applicants who have completed a degree instructed in English at a university that is physically located in one of the following countries: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand.

  • _I have completed studies in English or in an English-speaking country. Why can’t the waiver apply to me?_

The EIT Urban Mobility Master’s programmes are designed to conform to the EIT Label, a certificate of quality awarded to excellent educational programmes. Therefore, to ensure consistent and meaningful EIT-labelled education throughout the entire Master School, all partner universities agree on a common and jointly executed admission process. The above requirements regarding English proof of proficiency have been agreed upon by all partner universities as the highest common acceptable denominator. This ensures that they all respect the same process when selecting applicants. Although it seems logical and legitimate for applicants who have completed a degree in English in another country than the ones mentioned in the waiver’s list, it remains nevertheless impossible for the Master School to grant any exception. It is a matter of fairness and quality guarantee that we have such English requirements.

  • _I have previously studied at one of the partner universities and intend to study EIT Urban Mobility Master’s programmes at this university (as entry or exit year). Why can’t the waiver apply to me?_

Although this university once accepted your proof of English proficiency, please remember that a different logic is at work when applying for EIT Urban Mobility Master’s programmes. As you know, EIT Urban Mobility’s Master’s programmes are double degree programmes taught at two different universities in Europe, so your admission to our programmes is not solely dependent on one university’s assessment. Then again, the English requirements agreed upon by all partner universities thus guarantee equal treatment between the applicants, which is why we do not make exceptions to it.
