About the programme
Physics at Bielefeld University is a four-semester Master of Science worth 120 credit points, with an international track, and you can start in the winter or the summer semester. It gives you the advanced knowledge, skills and methods needed for scientific work and research-oriented careers. You broaden your basics in physics, gain further knowledge in several areas of physics and go deep into one field up to the current state of research, including modern methods in one or more specialist areas. You learn to use current scientific material for your own work, to present results, and to plan and carry out a large, demanding project within a bigger research group. Close involvement in research groups during your studies gives you practical training, and research projects and cooperations support interdisciplinary work. It suits you if you want to work creatively and independently in research or in a science-based job.
