About the programme

Infrastructure Planning (MIP) at the University of Stuttgart is a four-semester, English-taught Master's that gives international students, especially from the Global South, an interdisciplinary education. It focuses on planning and implementing complex projects in regional and urban planning and technical infrastructure, taking ecological and economic requirements into account. Running since 1983, it is practice-oriented and involves five faculties with 13 institutes, plus external lecturers. Civil engineers, architects and regional planners are deliberately grouped together for an integrated planning approach, and a year group usually includes more than 15 nationalities. You can plan a stay abroad for your Master's thesis in the fourth semester. Requirements include a Bachelor's in civil engineering, architecture, regional or urban planning or a related field, very good English, and an interest in interdisciplinary and intercultural work. The winter semester starts in October.
