About the programme
Sport Science is a German-taught Master of Arts at the University of Oldenburg. It takes 4 semesters (120 credits) and admission is limited. This interdisciplinary programme looks at sport-related lifestyles from both social science and natural science angles. Its core focus is the relationship between social situations, cultural trends and how people relate to their bodies and movement. A general part of 42 credits is followed by a specialisation phase where you choose either a cultural and social studies module or a natural sciences module, then an application component of 27 credits. The fourth semester is your Master's thesis. There are no lectures: modules are seminars and project colloquia with tutorials and practice sessions. Requirements include a Bachelor's in sport science or a closely related field with at least 60 credits in the subject. Applicants from outside Germany also need German at DSH-2 or TestDaF 4.
