About the programme

E-Government at the University of Koblenz is a research-oriented Master of Science taught in English. It runs for four semesters on campus, and you can start in the summer or the winter semester. The programme prepares you to bring information and communication technology into the public sector. You learn methods and techniques for designing information systems for government and public administration, for citizen participation, and for using IT in strategic decision-making and public governance, along with the changes these bring to organisational structures. Modules cover administrative informatics and e-government, business informatics, digital communication, security and collaboration, and law, plus a research internship with soft skills and a Master's thesis in administrative informatics. It builds on Bachelor's degrees such as business informatics, information management or computer science, so it suits graduates from these fields.
